The 2026 ASPH Improvement Partnership Event brought together colleagues from across local Trusts for a day of learning, collaboration and inspiration, focused on driving meaningful improvement in complex healthcare systems. The event featured an inspiring keynote and interactive workshop from renowned improvement leader Helen Bevan, alongside staff-led project showcases, a World Café networking session and a hands-on exploration of the Waters of Systems Change framework. Delegates worked together to tackle real organisational challenges, exploring the policies, practices, relationships, power dynamics and mental models that influence change across services.

Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants describing the day as informative, engaging and thought-provoking. Colleagues particularly valued the opportunity to work alongside teams they would not normally interact with, gaining new perspectives, understanding hidden barriers to change and recognising the different mental models that exist across the organisation. Many left feeling inspired, motivated and better equipped to collaborate across professional boundaries, with a renewed commitment to improving outcomes for patients and staff.
The event was a powerful reminder that meaningful and sustainable change happens when we come together, challenge our assumptions and harness our collective expertise and personal agency to make a difference.
